Data protection law (n. 81) introducing data protection measures
Law 81 concerning the protection of personal data enters into force, restricting data transfers out of Panama unless the recipient country or company has an adequated data protection level, that complies with the standards defined in the new bill. Moreover, the Law introduces the rights to delete, rectify and access personal data and the right to data portability. Finally, the law establishes the Council of Personal Data Protection as a consultation body.
